Where the hell have I been?

So I’ve been having some trouble getting stuff posted lately. Not for lack of things to review, far from it, I have more stuff than I can possibly read. Not because there’s nothing worth writing about, again far from it, every week I read at least a couple of books worth ranting and raving about. Not to mention all the great online content that comes my way. Nope it’s just plain old can’t get out of my own way syndrome. I sit down, I start an article and invariably get sidetracked by life.

I’m not asking for sympathy. I’m not even asking for understanding, I know you all get it. Everyone of us has to deal with the stuff of life getting in the way of the things we love to do.
So why am I even writing about this? Well I got an amazing email today. I was sent my confirmation of my press pass for New York Comic Con. Yes I hear the snickers, everyone and their mother got a press pass to comic con last year. Not this time, no this time you had to jump through some hoops, fill out a ton of paperwork, show some published work. They actually made it hard to get. And I was given one.

A lot of people think it’s no big deal. It’s a big deal to me. I’ve gone to NYCC for years as a fan and in fact it was meeting the crew from American Dark Age and picking up that amazing first issue that made me want to write about the experience. So yea getting a press pass is a pretty big deal for me. It reminds me why I do this. It reminds me that I really do want to write. It reminds me I really do love writing about comics and the people who make them. It reminds me to get off my ass and get some content out there!

Expect articles people, expect interviews. Expect new and interesting things you ain’t never seen before! And maybe a few things you have but never thought to go back to. I’m slapping my reporter hat back on my head and pounding the keys (admit it you just pictured Kolchak…).

I love comics. I know you do to. Stick with me and let’s find some great stuff to talk about!
