According to an exclusive report on The Hollywood Reporter, screen actor Willem Dafoe has been cast in November 2017’s Justice League Part One, and can be expected to reprise his mystery role in 2019’s Justice League Part Two.
Dafoe, who starred as the villainous Marvel character Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, is playing a good guy in a role that will see him appear in both parts of the JL movies. Details of his character, however, are being kept under lock and key.
It’s very exciting to see Willem Dafoe cast in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League films as this will now cement him as a DC Extended Universe (DCEU) actor. Interestingly, Mr. Dafoe joins J.K. Simmons in Justice League and this will now be a fun little reunion of sorts for both Spider-Man alums. Wouldn’t it be cool if Willem Dafoe plays Det. Harvey Bullock alongside J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon? The Hollywood Reporter does add that he’s playing “a good guy”, but it doesn’t specify that he’s playing a super hero alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman.
As a sidenote, What’cha Reading previously reported on the possibility of Crossfit athlete and star Brooke Ence‘s inclusion within either Justice League, Wonder Woman, or as we thought – Aquaman. It has now been softly confirmed that Brooke Ence will appear as an Amazon within Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, due out June 2017.
Stay tuned for more.
