My number one pick comes last, the rest are in no particular order (but somehow wound up in alphabetical order? Huh weird) So what’ya got?

Batwoman #16!

I’m not usually a fan of books written and drawn by the same person (Matt Kindt’s stuff is a notable exception to that statement), but J. H. Williams just blows me away. If you haven’t seen his stuff yet you are depriving yourself of a wonderful comic reading experience.

• This issue guest-stars everybody!

• In this penultimate chapter, everything that’s been happening in BATWOMAN comes to a head!

• Plus, a new hero is introduced, and Wonder Woman fights monsters!

Another great series continues this week

Revival #6

Now if this book has slipped under your radar you need to go get the volume 1 trade right now! It’s only $12.99 so pick it up and issue #6 this way you can read the trade and jump right into the new story arc!

Seriously if you haven’t read this series yet issue 6 is a great jumping on point for new readers. Tim Seeley is writing a heck of a rural noir and Mike Norton’s art is top-notch. And check out the cover! Jenny Frison is fast becoming one of my favorite cover artists! Check out the one she did for Hoax Hunters.

And the last but oh so not the least is my final pick of the week. I’m giving this the number one pick of the week slot. This book is the third issue in a six part mini series and we’ve reached that pivotal middle moment. The moment where it’s all gonna go really good or well, you know that’s not gonna happen right?

Witch Doctor: Mal Practice #3 (of 6)

Doctor Vincent Morrow is one of my all time favorite characters. He is and I quote “the world’s leading expert in supernatural disease”. He’s a doctor, a wizard, a bit of a charlatan, and a pompous ass. Think Dr. House meets Dr. Strange. Brilliant? Yes? Someone you want to punch in the nose fairly often? Definitely.

And yet Mr. Seifert keeps him likable. Add in Mr. Ketner’s art, which is creepy and detailed and you have a winner. Everytime these two put a book together it rocks. I was lucky enough to read a preview of this issue (sorry no spoilers sweeties) and they have definitely done it again. I was on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait for the next issue.

This time around he’s being extorted. Someone wants one of his most dangerous books of magic and they’ve infected him with a nasty mystical parasite. To get the cure he’ll have to hand over the book! What’s a purveyor of the mystical medical arts to do? Pick up a copy and find out!

Well that’s it. Seven books. Wait let me check…. Yup seven books, all great buys. True some require a little additional reading, maybe a little hunting for back issues. C’mon you’re a comic book fan, that’s all part of the fun!

So what are you buying this week? Let me know maybe I missed something?
