Was Harley Quinn under your tree? And Guess Who Had The Top Comic Sales?

DIAMOND LOGO colorDiamond Comics Distributor reports that the DC Bombshell statue of Harley Quinn was their top selling toy in December. With Walking Dead Risk and Monopoly leading the pack for games.

Comics had a fairly flat month going up less than 1% in sales but for the year they were up a little over 10%. Not too shabby for a supposedly dying industry. Print comics were up a 9% and graphic novels did fairly well going up 6.5% for the year.Origin II #1

Marvel beat DC as top dog for December with 35.77% of the sales to DC’s 27.22%. Marvel also had the top comic with the Wolverine mini Origin II #1. Marvel had 3 more of the top ten comics for the month. While DC had the other 6 slots.

Boom represented the indies with it’s collection of Adventure Time covers, Adventure Time: Eye Candy taking the top spot in specialty books. DC won the graphic novel category with Fables Vol 19.
