The USPS Celebrates Batman at New York Comic Con!

The USPS Celebrates Batman at New York Comic Con!What a way to open up New York Comic Con! At 10:30 this morning, writer Ralph Garman, US Postal Service Chief Information Officer Jim Cochrane, DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio, the legend himself, Jim Lee (who also designed the Modern Age Batman stamp), and USPS Stamp Sheet Designer Greg Breeding debuted the limited edition Batman forever stamps. Batman himself showed up to the dedication ceremony, before being called away by Comissioner Gordon.

There are four different stamps, each from a different period in Batman’s 75-year history. They are absolutely stunning, and I’ve already ordered my sheets online. Don’t wait – these are available for a limited time only!  You can get your stamps at any US Post Office, or online at the USPS online shop, where you can also buy first day covers, a framed sheet of stamps, and stamp keepsakes.

Also at Javits for Comic Con weekend – a Batman costume display from the movies, from Michael Keaton all the way up to Christian Bale – and featuring Ben Affleck’s “Batfleck” cowl and cape.

All in all, a pretty great way to kick off NYCC 2014.
