The Pink Panther and Pals come to Youtube!

Pink PantherDadum, dadum, dadum dadum dadum da-dum well you get the idea

Youtube has an official Pink Panther channel! I don’t spend a lot of time on youtube but the youtube kids app is a constant with my kids. That wouldn’t be a problem except for their preferred programming. They’ll watch any and every toy and video game video on the internet. Evantube, Stampy’s World, FTtv, it doesn’t matter as long as there’s someone telling them something about a toy or video game. So when I saw that an actual show would be available I was more than a little enthused. The press release we received made me smile as well. “MGM is bringing the Pink Panther & Pals episodes of the 2010 series to YouTube and the YouTube Kids App” “Parents and grandparents who were fans of the series in their youth can now share their favorite kitty with their kiddies”

Parents and Grandparents?

Now I don’t know what era you all are from but the Pink Panther cartoon I watched was the 1969 – 79 DePatie-Freleng series. I know there was also a series in the 90’s but I don’t think I’ve ever watched one. That being said the 2010 series isn’t exactly a classic for my generation. I did remember Pink Panther and Pals a bit and knew it was worth checking out again. I was right, it was really well done. Though in some respects it is Pink Panther lite. This series doesn’t have Inspector Clouseau or Sergeant Deux-Deux but we do get the Ant and the Aardvark. Seeing them brought back a ton of memories, though the voices have changed the humor remains.

Is Pink Panther and Pals any good though?

The episodes have standard plots for the era. The Panther runs afoul of Big Nose, or another antagonist, and hijinks ensue. There doesn’t seem to be as much of the subtlety or the double-entendres I seem to remember from the DePatie-Freleng series but that’s to be expected. Still returning to the world of the Panther, Big Nose, the Ant, and the Aardvark was definitely a lot of fun. There are eight episodes from the Pink Panther and Pals series available now with more episodes added each week. Go via the youtube kids app or your web browser they’re sure to make you, and your kids smile.
Enjoy The Pink Panther in “Gold, Silver, and Bronze” from the Official Pink Panther youtube channel.
