The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat (and Pokey) ~ What'cha Reading?

The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat (and Pokey)

The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat (and Pokey) - Preview ReviewThe Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Pokey, from Dynamite, Ben McCool, and a host of other talented artists and writers bring you a book you won’t soon forget. This hardcover collection boasts 104 pages, 11 adventures, and pages of original covers and sketches, following all Grumpy Cat and Pokey’s antics from ghost hunting and super-heroics to visits from extra-terrestrials and time travel. Come along as good-natured but not so bright Pokey falls victim to Grumpy’s schemes and manipulations. Now I’m not going to lie, I am not a fan of the Grumpy Cat thing that’s all over the internet. But this comic is fun. It’s got a similar aesthetic to other animal comics, she is definitely an antagonistic protagonist, but in the end it doesn’t feel mean-spirited or derivative. I’m glad I read through this one, I got more than a few laughs out of it.
The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat (and Pokey) gets a 3.5 out of 5, it’s newspaper strip funny with an above average sensibility.
