Supergirl Returns! “Blood Bonds”, the mid-season premiere, airs tonight and ahead of its 8 PM showing, we have a few clips from the episode. While CBS’ Supergirl has only been off for less than a month with “Hostile Takeover” airing December 18th of last year, fans like myself have felt it’s been on hiatus for much longer. With that said, Supergirl is back and “Blood Bonds” looks to be just as exciting as the previously shown episodes of this first season.
“With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl.”
CBS have released three clips from “Blood Bonds” and while they aren’t terribly spoiler filled, certain viewers may want to proceed with caution. Peter Facinelli’s Maxwell Lord appears as if he may be more active in the second half of Supergirl season one, whereas the build up to his villainy was more so teased throughout last year’s first few episodes. Supergirl has found itself quickly and is one of the most fun of DC Comics based television series. If you haven’t been watching, “Blood Bonds” may prove to be the perfect jumping on point.
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl season one as the title character with a cast that also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, and Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
