It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of comic books that release on a weekly basis. It’s especially easy to overlook some really great stories as we tend to focus on the titles released by DC Comics and Marvel. For the longest time, I consistently stuck with the first two shelves of comics and would very rarely venture to the others. It wasn’t that I wasn’t interested, it was just that I had grown comfortable with what I read. Over time, and writing for What’cha Reading, I’ve begun to develop more of an interest in other titles, especially the ones released by Image. Best known as the giant publisher during the 90’s, they’ve come along way since then, and in 2015 they easily have some of the best writers and artists.
RUNLOVEKILL, written by Jon Tsuei and illustrated by Eric Canete, is easily one of the most attractive series out there. Featuring covers by Manu Fernandez, the CGI modeled covers are just one of the many aspects that make this series by Image worth picking up. If you have yet to read RUNLOVEKILL, the first volume will release in comic book stores August 19th and in bookstores September 1st.
RUNLOVEKILL, VOL. 1 KEEPS READERS ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SEATS
The first story arc of the hit new suspense series is collected into trade paperback
Fan-favorite writer Jon Tsuei (Comic Book Tattoo) teams up with artist Eric Canete (The End League, Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin) for an all-new thriller/suspense that will hook readers and keep them on the edge of their seats in RUNLOVEKILL, VOL. 1. This collects issues #1-4 into trade paperback and will be available in August.
In RUNLOVEKILL, VOL. 1, a mysterious military organization known only as “The Origami,” is on the hunt for one of their former assassins: Rain Oshiro. Their stronghold on the city of Prygat is tightening and Rain has fewer than 24 hours to get out of their radius of influence before she’s trapped forever. Rain must face the decisions of her past while utilizing every last resource at her disposal to avoid capture—or even worse—death.
