Ah newspaper strips! Remember when you were little and just went crazy to get you hands on them? I hated waiting for my parents to finish with the paper, I used to try to flip through at breakfast but there was never enough time. And I didn’t even get Batman in the Daily News when I was a kid. We’re talking about Beetle Baily, Little Orphan Annie, Brenda Starr, Dick Tracy, Boom Hilda. Man what I would have given to have had Batman in there!
This hardcover collects strips from the Silver Age (’66 – ’67 specifically) which is ahem before my time this is still a Batman I know very well. This is the Batman of my youth, the one we saw swing across our television screens with a BAM! and a OOF!! I loved that show so very much and believe that it not only fostered my love of comics but my love of camp and of great character actors! But enough about the show (and me for that matter) let’s get on with the preview!
The run we’re showing you is one storyline with that maniacal Penguin as Batman’s adversary, check out the straight from the series dialogue and sound effects!
Admit it, you’re buying this one aren’t you… Well go on then, here are the details…
