Onwednesdays.net – My Favorite Geek Girls Speaking Out!

I’m happy to announce that several of our contributors here at What’cha Reading have launched a site, Onwednesdays.net, that promises fresh voices from the geek girl pulpit. Here’s a bit of what’s coming your way from OnWednesday co-editor Julie Hegner…

Recognizing the need for women’s voices to be heard on issues of the day, geekdom, and popular culture, On Wednesdays will provide a creative and dynamic place for those of the female persuasion to speak their minds on a number of subjects–whatever energizes and motivates them. In a world that has seen threats of violence against women who have dared to participate in the “male” world of geekdom, OWNet will provide a safe space for those who identify as women to speak out without having to prove themselves as fans.
On Wednesdays we wear capes and embrace our inner superheroes. What do you do?
Now don’t fret, we aren’t saying goodbye to them here at What’cha Reading, but we are celebrating their new venture and hope you’ll take a trip over to onwednesdays.net and say hi. I promise there’s good stuff there to experience.
