Sunday, October 11th brought an end to the 10th annual NYCC 2015 New York Comic Con by Reed Pop. While many of you went, there are those that were not able to go and sadly missed out on seeing one of the coolest exhibits. One of the highlights for us was the giant presence of March 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. It remains as not only ours, but many of comic, movie, and pop-culture fan’s most anticipated of movies. DC Entertainment, located at the west wing of the Jacob Javits Center, took over with the costumes from the upcoming movie, along with a booth selling exclusive merchandise and a convenient charging station sponsored by LexCorp.
Besides the costumes of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on display, we also got our first look at two additional action figures by Mattel, along with stylish hats by New Era. During New York Comic Con, DC All Access released a video featuring an in-depth look at the costumes from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the video we learn that costume designer Matthew Wilkinson and Zack Snyder incorporated the Kryptonian language into parts of the Superman costume, along with aiming for Batman to be bulkier and more imposing than Superman, and with Wonder Woman’s Amazonian armor and weapons possibly having a more mystical background.
One of the most packed areas inside the Jacob Javits Center was the actual show floor. While we didn’t have too much time to spend on the floor, we did manage to make our way over to a very special booth that many have overlooked – Diamond! On display at Diamond, something that was very easy to overlook, was Jada Toys upcoming Metals Die Cast line of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice action figures. Included in the line up is:
- Wonder Woman
- Armored Batman
Interestingly, the Armored Batman Metal Die Cast figure features a removable helmet and eyes that light up. But what really should catch your eye is the new promo artwork used for Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and most impressively, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Those will be available some time in mid 2016.
New York Comic Con was definitely the place to be if you’re a fan of the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. For those that were not able to make it, we hope that we’ve provided you with fun coverage that can hold you over for the next five months. In the meantime, please enjoy the photos we were able to take.
