Neca Announces a “Pops” Terminator Figure!

Terminator Genisys opened this summer and marks the fifth installment in the franchise to have action figures.  Interestingly, Genisys is only the second film in the series to not have action figures on shelves at the time of its release.  One of our favorite companies, NECA, has the license and while just the name card was teased during New York Comic Con 2015, the first few figures are slowly appearing on shelves.  The latest figure in the Terminator Genisys line is the “Pops” T-800 (2017 Version).

From the sci-fi action movie Terminator: Genisys! This brand new version of the Guardian T-800 is based on his appearance in the movie’s future timeline, when he’s known to Sarah Connor as “Pops.”

The 7” scale action figure is completely accurate to the new movie design, with over 25 points of articulation for great poses. “Pops” is sculpted with the likeness of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and comes with M4 shotgun accessory, two interchangeable heads, and interchangeable battle-damaged left arm.

Window box packaging.

“Pops” ships December 2015.

For those that didn’t see Terminator Genisys, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the T-800 over the course of 20+ years and we learn that a terminator’s synthetic skin ages.  The “Pops” T-800 is the version of Arnold that has waited for Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) to arrive in what is their future, but our present.  He’s also called “Pops” as he has essentially served as a surrogate father to her since she was a child.  Terminator Genisys was a surprisingly great movie this summer and served as the proper sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day.  If you have yet to see it, I recommend that you do.
