Mark Millar. Sean Gordon Murphy. Image Comics. Need I say more?
Okay, I will and I’ll try to contain myself. Two of the best talents in the industry will be pairing up for what will undoubtedly be a monumental success in an all new comic book entitled “Chrononauts.” The series is set to debut March 18 and is described as “essentially a buddy story about two best friends who can jump around between 16th century Persia, the American Civil War, or New York in the ’20s.” Artist Sean Gordon Murphy’s (Punk Rock Jesus, The Wake) artwork has been revealed through Image Comics and already judging by the process pages, inks, and final colors, “Chrononauts” looks to be an exciting new title.
I’m a sucker for time travel, especially a well told time travel story and I trust Mark Millar will deliver a fun tale worth reading. Mark Millar (Civil War, Kick Ass, Wanted) has likened “Chrononauts” to “Apollo 13 meets The Time Machine.” The story follows the (mis)adventures of Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly as they go on a journey through the space-time continuum. Interestingly enough, it has been revealed that their journey will be “man’s first, televised steps through the time stream” for the two friends. Leave it to Millar to find a different angle on time travel and it would be of no surprise if we learn of a film studio picking up the rights to this as the March release grows near.
If you’re as intrigued by Mark Millar and Sean Gordon Murphy’s “Chrononauts” as much as I am, then be sure to head to your local comic book store and let them know. If you’re in or around Queens, be sure to head to Royal Collectibles and have them add “Chrononauts” to your pull list. And if you don’t have a pull list, be sure to create one as it’s FREE and gets you 10% off all your comic purchases!
