Marvel’s Most Wanted Goes to Pilot!

0

Good Day True Believers!  If you are a fan of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., you may have heard talk of a spin-off focusing on characters Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) titled, Marvel’s Most Wanted that was shelved as of last May. Well, it has been confirmed that the series will go to pilot.  ABC President Paul Lee announced the news at the 2016 winter Television Critics Association tour.  “We’re absolutely doing that one.  I just announced that we’re going to pilot on Marvel’s Most Wanted, which is a spinoff.” Lee seemed to have nothing but good things to say about the series adding, “We love the script.  We think it’s going to be great.  We’re doing that in the next few months.”

There haven’t been any other reveals as of yet in terms of plot, other cast members or an official air date but updates will be given as that information is announced.  What we do know is S.H.I.E.L.D. producers Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski co-created the show and co-wrote the pilot for Marvel and ABC and will also be showrunners and executive producers.  Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb will also be an executive producer.

ABC and Marvel are in a great place right now as they are giving the fans what they want and more.  Lee even talked about the second season of Agent Carter and Marvel’s various Netflix series saying, “We feel very good about our Marvel franchises.”  When he was asked about other Marvel projects Lee stated, “We have two Marvel shows obviously being Agent Carter and obviously being S.H.I.E.L.D., and we have one in development, which we are making a pilot of.”  As far as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. itself, things are looking up.  “I can’t speak to what happens beyond May, but I’m feeling good about S.H.I.E.L.D.”

I personally like the direction S.H.I.E.L.D. is going and the show deserves to be renewed for seasons to come.  As for Marvel’s Most Wanted, it should be interesting giving what I’ve seen already of Bobbi’s and Nick’s relationship with each other.  This is big news all around for fans, Marvel and ABC alike.  I look forward to the second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as the show’s future going forward and other Marvel/ABC projects like Agent Carter and Marvel’s Most Wanted.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, January 21 on ABC at 9pm.  Check your local listings.
