On October 31, 2014, Author Jaysen Headley, creator of the award winning webcomic The Class, will officially release his first novel, A Love Story for Witches. This young adult fantasy novel revolves around Adam, a hopeless romantic twenty-something who wants nothing more than to find the girl of his dreams. When he finally meets Eva, someone he can connect with, he finds out all too late that she is a Witch. In a world where witches kill each other for power and are forbidden to love, this can be a real problem. A Love Story for Witches deals with the fear of the word ‘love’ and just what it takes to truly care for another person. The book also features eighteen sketches from the author to accompany each chapter.
The book released on September 28, 2014 exclusively on Amazon and Kindle to positive reviews after receiving high pre-orders and praise in the UK, being called “Hunger Games meets Harry Potter” by The Guardian.
The book will receive two launch events. The first will be held at Forbidden Planet Comics on October 29th and will feature author Jaysen Headley and Senior Editor Carl Li signing and talking about the inspirations for the book. This will be the first time the book is available in a retail store.
On October 30th, the official launch party will be held at Kiehl’s Since 1851 in Hell’s Kitchen. Author Jaysen Headley will be accompanied by all three of the book’s editors. Anyone attending the party will receive free samples from Kiehl’s with the purchase of the book and also a discount on the book with any Kiehl’s purchase. Free lip balms will be given to the first 50 people to show up in costume, who will also be entered in a raffle for bigger prizes. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
On October 31st, the book will go on sale in select stores followed by a full international release in Decemeber. A Love Story for Witches is a combined publication effort between Random House, Amazon and Jaysen Headley Writes Productions.
