Let's Agree that Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman! ~ What'cha Reading?

Let’s Agree that Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman!

One of the most widely debated of casting choices in regards to the DC Extended Universe, or DCEU for short, was the casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.  The 30-year-old Israeli actress and fashion model, best known for her role as Gisele in the Fast and Furious films, will be seen in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), Justice League Part One (2017), and Part Two (2019) as the iconic amazonian herself, Wonder Woman.  While many actresses and athletes were rumored for the role, Gal Gadot eventually won and her casting was announced December 2013.  Despite fan excitement over the fact that we’d finally be getting a live action Wonder Woman after many failed attempts, many “fans” were still not pleased as they felt she was too skinny.  Two years after her casting, several official photos and personal Instagram posts, and a theatrical trailer later… Could we all agree that Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman!?!

Gal Gadot has made no secret of her commitment to the important role as Diana Prince, daughter of Queen Hippolyta, and the one and only Wonder Woman.

“The Wonder Woman story is a story that needs to be told. I’m so happy that its me to tell this story. I think that there’s no better time than now, and it’s about time that we showed this amazing heroine on the big screen.”

This past weekend marked the 40th anniversary of the Lynda Carter television series and it’s amazing to think that its been over four decades that we’ve last seen the 74-year-old character created by William Moulton Marston.  In a moment where many have clamored for Marvel Studios to produce a Black Widow solo picture, it’s only right that Wonder Woman will be the first major female super hero to be given the big-screen treatment.  It’s a character that needs to be handled with respect and with Patty Jenkins directing and Zack and Deborah Snyder producing, I’d say she’s in good hands.

Earlier today, Gal Gadot took to Instagram to post this current photo shown above.  For anyone that has followed her Instagram, you’ll know that she has periodically charted her progress, along with sharing small tidbits on Wonder Woman.  With the 2017 film reportedly set to begin filming this month, it looks very likely that Gal Gadot is already ready to don the red, blue, and gold armor once again.

*Gal Gadot has the perfect Wonder Woman look.  She has the exotic beauty and long dark hair, especially when she is seen in the costume.  I can’t think of a better person to portray the Amazonian princess.  I have high expectations for the Wonder Woman movie and judging by the looks of the character in the trailers for Batman v. Superman, they will do her great justice.  Gal has a good action background in the Fast & the Furious franchise so we know she is cut out for the physical demands of the role.  I cannot wait to see her as Wonder Woman and know she will do great.

According to reporting on Nerdist, Gadot has been engaged in an extreme training regimen consisting of Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, and weight-lifting, all in order to prepare for her role as Wonder Woman.  In regards to Gal Gadot’s physicality, she’s definitely been training very seriously for her role and let’s not forget that she did serve her two years in the Israeli Defense Forces.

We do not have much longer to wait for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as it opens in four months.  Gal Gadot did reveal a few days ago that we can expect a new trailer for the film soon and we should certainly be seeing more of Wonder Woman.  There’s a lot to be excited for, especially if you’re a fan of the character.  It appears as if shooting is about to commence considering that director Patty Jenkins, set photographer Clay Enos, and DC CCO Geoff Johns have all arrived in England.  Oh yeah, and that Gal Gadot posted this picture on her Instagram this morning:

Yeah, Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman!
