Legends of Tomorrow's Crown "Jewel"; Staite Cast in Guest Role! ~ What'cha Reading?

Legends of Tomorrow’s Crown “Jewel”; Staite Cast in Guest Role!

Back in December, I reported on promo posters released for the new CW show, Legends of Tomorrow, set to premiere on January 21.  I have good news to report about a special guest on the show who is well known in the sci-fi TV universe, Jewel Staite.  I remember her back in the 90’s on a Disney Channel show called Flash Forward, which also starred X-Men: The Last Stand’s Ben Foster.  However, most fans will know her from her more current roles of Kaylee Frye on Firefly and Dr. Jennifer Keller/Elia on Stargate: Atlantis.

Staite’s role on Legends, which will last for 10 episodes, has her playing Rachel Turner, “a tech genius/robotist who exists in a future in which technology has an even firmer grip on our lives than it does today.”  She is also described as being from “a long line of inventors” which could hint at Dr. Ben Turner, aka Bronze Tiger who has appeared on Arrow but there’s no guarantee of a link between Ben and Rachel.  Vandal Savage gets his hands on some of Rachel’s inventions which causes her to align with the Legends team.

Ever since I saw the promo posters and trailers for Legends of Tomorrow, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the show to start.  Now with the addition of Jewel Staite in a guest role, I wish it was January 21 already.  I cannot wait to see her in action along with the rest of the cast.  The show is shaping up to be a series of epic proportions.

The DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series also stars Victor Garber (“The Flash,” “Alias”), Brandon Routh (“Arrow,” Superman Returns), Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”) and Franz Drameh (Edge of Tomorrow), with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”) and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”).

Based on the characters from DC Comics, the new series hails from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Arrow”) serves as executive producer alongside Marc Guggenheim (Eli Stone, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Warehouse 13”) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash”).

Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday, January 21 on the CW.  Check your local listings.
