It’s time the world knew her name. And on November 20th of this year, we believe Jessica Jones will be a household name. Today has seen the first teaser trailer released for the upcoming Marvel venture with Netflix. Marvel’s Jessica Jones looks ready to launch and while we don’t have a fully proper look at Krysten Ritter as the lead, or the rest of the cast for that matter, the teaser certainly gets the job done. Have a look below.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is based on the MAX comics series, an imprint of Marvel, and was created/written by Brian Michael Bendis. The comic series was named Alias; not to be confused with the ABC television series starring Jennifer Garner. While I’ve never read Alias, staff writer and co-founder of On Wednesdays We Wear Capes, Nancy Joyce, has and she wrote about it some time ago. You could find her article which was written around the time fans were learning of Marvel developing a slate of original programming for Netflix here – Retro Review: Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias.
Taking place after a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, the new series follows Jessica Jones as she rebuilds her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) is joined by a cast that including David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval, among others.
Jessica Jones premiers November 20th on Netflix at 3:01 ET/ 12:01 PT.
