While speculation has been rife on whether or not we’d see Channing Tatum as X-Men hero Gambit, we have exciting news on the Tatum superhero front. Announced a few hours ago, Jenna Dewan Tatum has been cast as Lucy Lane for CBS’ Supergirl.
The Witches of East End and American Horror Story Actress will star in the recurring role, starting with the third episode. Described as brash, funny and as beautiful as her older sister Lois Lane, Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. She’s got a history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and she’s come to town to right a previous wrong.
This keeps in line with the many other incarnations of the character as we’ve previously seen her on Superman: The Animated Series, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Smallville. For fans of Superman and that particular area of DC Comics, the cast of Supergirl seems to promise many established but smaller characters getting the spotlight they deserve. Just recently Chris Browning (Sons of Anarchy) was cast as villain Reactron, along with Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga) as Maxwell Lord. We’ve also learned that Superman villain and my favorite comic character Livewire will be featured at some point on Supergirl, but there has been no casting as of yet.
Stay tuned for more information. Supergirl premieres Monday, October 26 at 8:30 ET/PT on CBS. Check your local listings.
