Holiday Shopping 2014: ThinkGeek ~ What'cha Reading?

Holiday Shopping 2014: ThinkGeek

0

I don’t know about you, but the geeks on my holiday shopping list far outnumber the muggles, so I spend endless hours combing the internet for perfect geeky gifts. One of the sites that I hit up a lot is ThinkGeek, just because it has something for practically every fandom in one place and they’re very reasonably priced. Here are some of my ThinkGeek favorites for this year.

I follow the “no Christmas decorations until Thanksgiving is over” rule, but have bent it over the years so that I can start decorating as soon as Santa makes his appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade (who am I to argue with Santa?). This year I got a couple of fun new ornaments for the tree that I am dying to put up, these Dalek and TARDIS ornaments.  I also got this exploding TARDIS ornament because of course I did.

However, if Doctor Who isn’t your thing? There’s also this cool Walking Dead ornament:

And what says Christmas like a House Stark ornament from Game of Thrones?

Winter is coming, after all. These Transformer ornaments (complete with glowing eyes!) are perfect for the Autobot or Decepticon lovers in your house, too:

Who says Christmas trees (or Hanukkah bushes, if you prefer?) have to be all formal? It sure wasn’t me!

Oh, and if you’re looking something for your front door that won’t shed needles everywhere? This 8-Bit LED Holiday Wreath is just the ticket…

Pretty sure Princess Peach uses the exact same thing to decorate her castle.

Now that your house is properly decorated, time to get down to the serious gift giving. I saw this Tetris lamp at a friend’s house and it is a thing of beauty. It’s also really addictive to play with and I guarantee you you’ll try out at least five set ups for the blocks before you settle on one. (And don’t try for a Tetris, you overachievers, that’s boring.)

I have fallen in love with this USB Car Charger shaped like a Flux Capacitor:

Yeah, most of us will never own a DeLorean, let alone a DeLorean that’s a time machine, but you can plug this into your minivan and dream, dammit.

Got a coffee addict friend/family member who has spent more of their life in the Mushroom Kingdom than in the real world? They probably need this:

We all have Big Bang Theory fans on our gift lists, am I right? They all need this Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock t-shirt.

All of them. Without exception.

I just want to see the look on people’s faces when you bring this Organ Transport Lunch Cooler to your cafeteria/lunchroom and open it up. Because I have a really sick sense of humor. I feel like this would be fun for the Hannibal fans out there.

I’ve got a couple of Browncoats on my list as well, so I have to suggest this Firefly magnetic poetry kit for stocking stuffers and these Firefly Inevitable Betrayal Dinosaurs with Sound. WITH SOUND, PEOPLE.

Last but not least, are you looking for the perfect Secret Santa present to give to an officemate? I dare you to find something better than this Shark With Frickin’ Laser Pointer.

This is exactly what’s needed to spice up that next endless Power Point presentation that you’re all going to have to sit through, especially if you impose a “Must Talk Like Dr. Evil” rule upon whomever is giving said presentation.

I could seriously go on and on with the ThinkGeek website because there is just So. Much. Good. Stuff. But I’ll stop here while I still have some money in my bank account. That’s the thing about ThinkGeek, peeps…buy it now or wish you had, because a million other people are out there with the same ideas as you, ready to snatch that Uhura Makeup Bag out of your cart (I would have linked that one, but it’s out of stock.) Go forth and shop!
