Heroes & Villains Fan Fest Weathers the Storm! ~ What'cha Reading?

Heroes & Villains Fan Fest Weathers the Storm!

This weekend would have been the date of the latest event to hit the Con scene, Heroes & Villains Fan Fest.  However, Mother Nature had other plans and disrupted the event with a blizzard of villainous proportions.  New York and New Jersey were buried with close to two feet or more of snow and winds of 45 mph causing white out conditions, grinding any method of transportation to a screeching halt.  The storm stretched from Washington, D.C. to New England knocking out power and leaving fourteen people dead in its wake as of last night. Fellow staffer Steven and myself were to attend the show, courtesy of two tickets from Michael “Gooth” Guthas, the press manager at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest.  I was personally looking forward to attending Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, along with meeting Erin Richards (Gotham) and Caity Lotz (Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow)I had attended Walker Stalker Con in December, which was excellent, so I knew this show would be great as well.

Heroes & Villains has been excellent with its updates regarding scheduling, cancellations, etc. for tomorrow’s part of the event.  They have stressed on their website the show will go on as planned Sunday and made a complete list of who and who will not be there, new times for panels and other events, as well as honoring all tickets from Saturday’s show.  This, along with the re-scheduling of Saturday’s show with as many of the original guests as possible, shows how committed they are to the fans and the experience.  It will go a long way on the comic con scene.

While it was disappointing that I, along with many others, were not able to make it to Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, they did a great job accommodating everyone.  Heroes & Villains Fan Fest will re-schedule Saturday’s event and will be hitting the road along with the stars from The Flash, Arrow and Gotham starting with Chicago March 12-13 and Atlanta November 19-20.  The Arrow crew was nice and appreciative to the fans, taking pictures and entertaining them.  It’s nice to see celebrities do that for the fans and while I may have missed this event, I’d like to thank Michael “Gooth” Guthas, once again, for the tickets and handling the event so well considering the circumstances.

While the 2016 con scene may have started off on a frigid note, What’cha Reading will be providing press coverage at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) the weekend of March 18-20, featuring Keiynan Lonsdale from The Flash and Melissa Benoist and Chyler Leigh of Supergirl.
