Gotham Goes “O.C.” With Newest Cast Announcement!

Melinda Clarke

Greetings Gothamites!  I come to you this holiday season with tidings of great news on the Gotham front!  Melinda Clarke will reunite with her The O.C. co-star Ben McKenzie in the second half of the season as Grace van Dahl.  Fans of The O.C. will know Melinda and Ben as Julie Cooper and Ryan Atwood, respectively for the show’s entire series run from 2003-2007.

This is not the first time we’ve seen Melinda’s name come up in the comic book world.  She played Jessica Priest in the 1997 film, Spawn alongside Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo and Martin Sheen.

The OCAs for Clarke’s character Grace Van Dahl, she’s not a DC Comics original, which means we will get to see a new character created from scratch just like Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith).

All we know of Grace is she is “desperate for money and power” and “she can lie and cheat—and even kill!—to get what she wants.”  As a fan of Gotham I am getting antsy for February 29th when the second half starts.  I cannot wait to see Hugo Strange and the other new characters revealed either on the show or in the news make their appearances.  I cannot wait to see what Mr. Freeze has in store for us when he gets full episodes and a storyline.  Clarke will make her debut in the 15th episode of the season.

Gotham airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX. Check your local listings,
