Free Comic Book Day Saturday May 4th @ Royal Collectibles in NYC!

What is Free Comic Book Day?

Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores.

*Check with your local comic book shop for their participation and rules.

While shops all over the tri-state area celebrate this wonderful event you all know my favorite local comic shop is Royal Collectibles in Forest Hills New York. They never fail to make you feel welcome and they have some seriously geeky comic people working there ( yes, that was a compliment ). So what do they have in store for this years Free Comic Book Day?

I shot Diane over at Royal and email and here’s what they have going on this year:

Besides giving out TONS of free comics, other events will include:

    • Face painting/balloon animals with Spider-Man
    • Buy 1, Get 1 Half-Off Sale on all Marvel Universe 2-Pack Figures- Buy 2, Get 1 Free on all single-pack Marvel Universe
    • 25% off all TRADE PAPERBACKS & HARDCOVERS—-50% off IRON MAN Trade Paperbacks & Hardcovers
    • 25% off all current back issues (in designated back issue section) —-50% off current Iron Man back issues
    • (1) FREE Iron Man Hardcover (collects issues #1-5 of the current Marvel NOW! ongoing series by Kieron Gillen and Greg Land) with any purchase over $50.00 (while supplies last!)
    • And an extra special raffle to celebrate FCBD AND the release of Iron Man 3! There will be four winners and the prizes will be announced here over the next week!

They’ll also have a Flea Market behind the store in their parking lot!

Now I know they’re not the only shop in town but they are a really cool one, stop by if you get a chance, tell them Chuck from Whatchareading says Hello!
