CBS’ Supergirl is one of my favorite shows. Each week has blended the DC Universe and “Super” mythology into a show that is perfectly suited for fans and newcomers, and anyone looking for a brighter, more optimistic take on super heroes. However, this week’s episode of Supergirl – “For The Girl Who Has Everything” looks to take a bittersweet, if darker tone than previous episodes. Inspired by the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons Superman Annual #11, which in turn led to an unforgettable Justice League Unlimited episode, Andrew Kreisberg has taken a classic Superman story and swapped the Man of Steel with his cousin, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist).
“For The Girl Who Has Everything” is surely going to be a buzz worthy and live-tweet worthy episode as it will pit Supergirl against a parasitic alien, and also see the return of Non (Chris Vance) and Allura/Astra (Laura Benanti).
Enjoy the preview of this week’s Supergirl episode below, along with photos from the episode.
“Kara’s friends must find a way to save her life when a parasitic alien attaches itself to her and traps her in a dream world where her family is alive and her home planet was never destroyed. Also, Alex, Hank and the DEO must fend off a Kryptonian attack while Kara is out of commission.”
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl with a cast that also includes Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
Supergirlairs on CBS, Monday nights at 8 PM ET. Check your local listings.
