Like all Whovians, I have a love/hate affair with the Weeping Angels. They’re scary as hell, and I’ve never forgiven Moffat for giving them every means of attack known to man (was “the image of a Weeping Angel becomes a Weeping Angel” really necessary?) or for raising the stakes from just statues of angels like you see in cemeteries to the Statue of Liberty. (I live in Brooklyn, five blocks from Greenwood Cemetery. You can see the Statue of Liberty from that cemetery. I no longer enjoy walks through said cemetery because of Moffat.) And yet, there’s something about the Angels that’s kind of compelling…lonely assassins and all. Titan’s Tenth Doctor Weeping Angels arc seems poised to give us both sides of their characters, so I’ll be picking up issue #7 in February and damn the consequences of living five blocks from a cemetery while I’m reading it. I draw the line at sewing my eyes open, though.

Trapped in a field hospital in No Man’s Land, the Doctor and Gabby are surrounded on all sides by a force of starving Weeping Angels. Their only allies – a handful of experienced soldiers, the friendly-but-exhausted Corporal Jamie Hamilton, and beds full of the walking wounded.
As the siege stretches on and watchful eyes grow weary – who will be the first to blink?!
