As promised, yesterday Stephen Amell released the first trailer for season four of The CW’s Arrow.  In the form of a sizzle reel, fans now have a 2 minute look at all the action and intrigue for the upcoming season.  The DC Comics based television series, Arrow, looks to borrow even more elements from the comic universe and promises a new big bad. Have a look below.

As a fan of Arrow, season four was already a returning series that I was looking forward to.  With the sizzle reel, The CW’s Arrow has now jumped to the top of the list.  While we do see a brief appearance of Caity Lotz as Sara Lance and Team Arrow in their respective outfits, perhaps the biggest treat is seeing Matt Ryan back as John Constantine!

There’s a great amount of teased reveals in the trailer for Arrow season four.  It should be interesting to see the new dynamic of the team, along with the expected return of Oliver Queen to Starling, now renamed Star City.  At the start of the sizzle reel we see that Oliver’s city renamed to Star in memory of Raymond Palmer (Brandon Routh).  Season three concluded with Palmer Industries exploding, but as we’ve seen in the trailer for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Palmer returns, with the ability to shrink to the size of an atom.

While watching the trailer, keep a look out for Jeri Ryan of Deep Space 9 fame and the name Kord on the devices near Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) at the end of the sizzle reel. Ted Kord is the Blue Beetle in the DC Universe and his appearance within television/film has long been teased.

Arrow returns Wednesday, October 7th at 8pm ET on The CW.  Check your local listings.
