From the press release:
ADVENTURE TIME 2014 ANNUAL #1 features the creative team of Frank Gibson and Becky Dreistadt (ADVENTURE TIME, Tiny Kitten Teeth) as they bring you the fan-favorite, adventurous, gender-swapped characters Fionna and Cake as you’ve never seen them before—as babies! If that wasn’t exciting enough, the Annual will be the first-ever ADVENTURE TIME horizontally formatted issue.

When I asked our editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon about what makes this issue so special, he told me, “Part of the fun of ADVENTURE TIME is the experimental approach to storytelling. By, 1): crafting a horizontal reading experience; 2): exploring Fionna and Cake’s beginning; and 3): enlisting the inimitable talents of Frank and Becky, we’ve brought to life a one-of-a-kind ADVENTURE TIME issue.”

Just one of the above things would be reason enough to be excited about this issue, but put them all together and I think the ADVENTURE TIME 2014 ANNUAL #1 has the potential to appeal to a lot of fans. It features a cover by Becky Dreistadt for the price of $4.99. The Diamond order code is FEB141087. Fans can supply that code to their retailer by the end of the day on April 7th to pre-order the issue. There are also two retailer incentive variant covers illustrated by Lorena Gomez and Audra Furuichi that will be available in limited quantities.
