As Marvel enters the last days of its Secret Wars, fans have found even more information released regarding the “all-different Marvel Universe.”  It’s an exciting time as we begin to learn more about the next chapter of the Marvel Universe, especially which characters will return and in what capacity they will be utilized.  Announced today, Marvel has revealed that the “Totally Awesome Hulk” (no longer just Incredible) is going to take us in an all-new direction!

Writer Greg Pak and artist Frank Cho are behind the newest incarnation of the Jade Giant and he’s no longer the mild-mannered, but mercurial scientist Dr. Bruce Banner.  The all-new, all-different “Totally Awesome Hulk” will be a 19 year-old Korean-American named Amadeus Cho.  He’s described as a “boy genius” who’s going to love every moment of his new-found abilities/powers, you name it.

I trust Greg Pak and Frank Cho as they are both talented individuals.  While there isn’t much else that is known about the why’s of this change to the Hulk, I believe this to be an exciting take on the character and am greatly looking forward to the 19 year-old being a superhero dynamic.  We’ve seen this work to great effect in comics like Shazam and in films like Big and 13 Going On 30 so it will be fun to see how this plays out within the Marvel Universe.
