Great jumping on point for new readers! Call your local shop and ask them to pull you a copy!
First off, check out Jenny Frison’s gorgeous cover!
Here’s the blurb from Image:
““HAUNCHYVILLE” At Reality Con, the Hoax Hunters cross paths with the Hoax Hunters Hunters who issue a challenge: Disprove the legend of the Haunchyville gnomes and their albino king! The start of an all new arc!”
Yes there’s a group called Hoax Hunters Hunters and it seems their mission in life is to expose the HH as government stooges bent on covering up the truth. Ha! What could be more absurd hey wait a minute aren’t they exactly, well I mean they’re not stooges but they well…. Anyway, the HH take on the challenge! Will there be something to this gnome business?
And if there is really something out there will the HH be able to deal with it and keep the HH Hunters from stumbling across the truth?
Here are some preview pages from issue 6: (borrowed with love from CBR)
Good to see the return of Axel Medellin (artist on issues 1 through 4), while I really enjoyed Emilio Laiso’s work on issue 5 I have come to look forward to Axel’s characterizations. A book about gnomes could have easily come off silly rather than creepy or scary. Axel’s take on them is frightening, I especially love the last page of this preview. That page above, pages twenty-two, and twenty-three are worth the price alone.
As it’s been said a few times this is a new arc so expect the cliff hanger but don’t worry there’s more than enough in this issue to satisfy you till next month. We even get two backup stories and a pin-up! So come on catch up with the Hoax Hunters, let’s go find us some gnomes!
