Yesterday night, director Zack Snyder tweeted the first official posters for “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The March 25, 2016 release has two posters, one showcasing Henry Cavill as Superman and the other of Ben Affleck as Batman. Check them out below.
The posters, featuring photography by Clay Enos, seem to be headed in a “Watchmen” vibe that depicts the beauty of guerrilla marketing and street art. It seems as if Warner Bros. and DC Comics will be aiming for a propaganda filled marketing campaign to sell audiences on the Batman v. Superman aspect of the film, along with offering fans to take a stand for Team Superman or Team Batman. Either hero you pledge your allegiance to, both posters are stunning and a surprisingly fresh way to promote the film as opposed to your standard one-sheet featuring both DC Comics icons.
Tonight is the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” event in IMAX at 7 p.m. and for those lucky enough to have tickets, I wouldn’t be surprised if these posters are handed out. They look great and offer another peek at Ben Affleck in the new batsuit. Fans should be really happy that this will be the first comic accurate costume as it is the black and grey suit. And who else completely loves the little ears on the cowl? That’s always been a favorite of mine. What about the Superman teaser poster? Anyone else notice he’s giving a slight smile? What a terrific way to contrast the angry mean muggin’ of Ben Affleck as Batman!
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter. The film will be the first of two DC Comics connected universe films to release next year.
